Students are taught individually in the studio with the course of study tailored to each student.  All students study music theory and a variety of music from all eras. Students learn to read  music, rhythm, artistic interpretation of the music, technics to express the artistry, performance skills, and development of aural skills (ear training). With over 30 years of teaching experience,  several students have gone on to major or minor in music after graduation from high school, each  of which received scholarships and awards for their musical skills. 

There are usually three studio performance opportunities ranging from a studio master class to a  recital in a concert-type setting. Contest opportunities are available including NFMC Gold Cup  Festival, TMTA/CMTA Theory Test, TMTA/CMTA World of Music Exam (music history), piano competitions, ensembles/duets, and other opportunities.
