Welcome to Conroe Music Teachers Association , a non-profit 501c(3) organization affiliated with Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA). Founded in 1992, CMTA has been named 'TMTA Best of State' four times since the inception of this prestigious award in 2006. Through Student Affiliates, our communities' young musicians can learn, compete, and perform in many areas of music including: composition, music theory or history, chamber music, ensembles, and performance.
How to Join CMTA
Interested teachers should begin by visiting Music Teachers National Association's (MTNA) website to join: mtna.org . For questions about membership or help becoming a member, please contact us on Facebook during this time.
Membership dues are paid through MTNA and are as follows:
- MTNA Annual Membership - $81 ($59.25 for members 70+ years old)
- TMTA Annual Membership - $45
- CMTA Annual Membership - $20
There are six CMTA General Meetings scheduled in designated months from August through May. Meetings are the first Friday of the selected months and will be held at HEB - Community Room, 7988 FM 1488 Road, Magnolia, Texas, 77354 USA, unless otherwise stated.
Members are required to attend four CMTA General Meetings per year or fulfill the member participation requirements through alternative service within the organization. A complete participation list can be found in the CMTA Handbook or on the CMTA website - conroemta.org.
Students of CMTA members may participate in a variety of events and activities throughout the year. A complete list of events and member participation requirements can be found in the CMTA Handbook or on the CMTA website - conroemta.org. In addition, members may have their photo, contact information and a short bio included on the CMTA website under the 'Teachers' tab. Members will also have access to the 'Members Login' page of the CMTA website that includes teaching resources, vendor and publisher information and links to other state or national music organizations.
