Northbound exit 85 (Gladstell exit) will be closed starting Saturday. This means those coming to Tuesday night's ensemble concert from the south will need to exit at the South Loop 336 exit (exit 84) or go on up to Hwy 105 (exit 86) and circle back on the south feeder of I-45.
A map may be found at www.arkchurch.org. Click on map and directions, keeping in mind the northbound Gladstell exit will be closed.
With the exit closure, there are two ways to come from the south:
1. You can go west on Loop 336 S. about 1.7 miles to Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd. (traffic light at intersection). Go right on Sgt. Ed Holcomb Blvd. You will pass Windsor and Gladstell streets on your right, then immediately veer right onto Old Magnolia Road and right again on Kirk Road (I'm not sure if these streets are labeled) just go right every time you can after you pass Gladstell. You will pass Kasmiersky park on your left. Follow road around to 450 Humble Tank Road - the Ark Church.
2. Exit at Hwy 105. Turn left under I-45 and left again to get on I-45 S. feeder. Stay on feeder over Hwy. 2854. Follow feeder until you get to Ark Drive. Turn right on Ark Drive (in front of the Motel 6 sign- There is also a large Ark Church sign). Follow Ark Drive about 1 block to the church.
From the North:
Take exit 85 (Gladstell) and turn right on Ark Drive (in front of the Motel 6 sign - there is also a large Ark Church sign.) Follow Ark Drive about 1 block to the church.

Alecia

I-45 construction to close Gladstell exit Saturday
Brad Meyer,

Highway construction will close one exit on Interstate 45 this weekend and set the stage for moving all northbound traffic over to the southbound lanes on Monday.
Originally scheduled to close this past Tuesday, the northbound exit at Gladstell Road will close Saturday as construction crews make progress on the project to expand I-45 to four-lanes between Loop 336 South and Loop 336 North. The closure is in anticipation of the plan to move all northbound traffic to the west side of the highway on Monday.
“We will be closing Gladstell on Saturday in preparation to move all traffic to the southbound lanes of I-45,” said Tesfaye Mesfin, assistant area engineer for the Texas Department of Transportation. “The plan is to start concrete work on the new northbound lanes.”
Mesfin anticipates the Gladstell exit will be closed for almost a year as TxDOT crews continue the loop to loop expansion of I-45. The current Gladstell overpass will be demolished and replaced with a new roadway that crosses under an elevated section of I-45.
“Southbound traffic will remain as it is now,” said Mesfin, “only northbound traffic will be affected at this time.”
Beginning Saturday, northbound traffic will have exit options at Texas 105 and Loop 336 north and south. No other exits will be available as crews continue work on the highway expansion.
